Held as a cornerstone of the 27th General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM Dubai 2025), International Committees Day (ICs Day) offered a unique platform for ICOM’s global committees to engage directly with local museums, cultural spaces, and academic institutions across the UAE. Rooted in ICOM’s commitment to peer-to-peer knowledge exchange and professional development, ICs Day is designed to foster dynamic dialogue, deep collaboration, and cross-cultural understanding.
Held on 15 November, ICs Day brought together delegates from around the world for off-site sessions hosted by ICOM’s International Committees. Each programme was co-curated with a UAE-based cultural or academic partner, offering a tailored experience aligning with the committee’s area of focus and expertise.
The sessions featured expert-led discussions, specialised lectures, interactive cultural presentations, and valuable networking opportunities, all outside the main conference venue, giving participants an opportunity to explore the UAE’s diverse cultural ecosystem first-hand.
International Committees Day was held in partnership with ALIF, Terra and Tawasul Conference Centre at Expo City Dubai, alongside Al Shindagha Museum — the UAE’s largest heritage museum, the American University of Sharjah (AUS), Coffee Museum, Etihad Museum, ICCROM, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, Museum of the Future, New York University Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Centre for Cultural Understanding (SMCCU), Sharjah Museums Authority, Women’s Museum in Dubai, the Natural History Museum – Abu Dhabi, and Bayt Al Khanyar.
