RTA Approves New Driver Training and Licensing Facility in Hatta

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has approved the opening of a new branch dedicated to driver training and licensing services in Hatta region, aimed at serving residents of Hatta and surrounding communities. This step forms part of RTA’s broader strategy to enhance the accessibility and quality of public services through partnerships with the private sector. Developed in collaboration with Emirates Driving Institute, the new branch is designed to elevate the standard of service delivery for the local population.

Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency, commented: “The launch of the new branch reflects RTA’s commitment to addressing the needs of local communities by providing convenient access to essential driver licensing services. It also aims to ease the burden on residents who previously had to travel to Dubai or other Emirates to avail of such services.”

“The new branch was approved in partnership with Emirates Driving Institute as part of RTA’s continued efforts to meet the needs of Hatta residents, support the region’s development, and enhance quality of life. It also aligns with the Dubai Government’s vision to position Hatta as a top tourist destination.”

Mahboob added: “The Hatta branch is now fully operational and provides a comprehensive range of services, including traffic file opening, theoretical and practical driver training, theoretical and practical testing, and issuing driving licences for motorcycles and light vehicles with both manual and automatic transmissions. With its launch, the branch becomes the 27th RTA-approved driver licensing centre in Dubai, representing a valuable addition to the city’s driver training infrastructure. This initiative aligns with the strategic direction of both the Dubai Government and the RTA to simplify and enhance service delivery for residents of the region.”

The branch operates Sunday through Friday, from 8:15 AM to 11:00 PM. On Fridays, services pause for a prayer break from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, with a daily break from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Saturday has been designated for registration only, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
