Mansoor bin Mohammed chairs meeting of Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management

His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, chaired a meeting to review the Committee’s preparedness to swiftly tackle any issues that may arise due to adverse weather conditions.

During the meeting held at The Executive Council of Dubai, emergency plans prepared by relevant entities in Dubai were discussed to ensure the best response to any potential disruptions.

The Committee has also decided to implement remote learning in private schools in Dubai on Thursday and Friday, May 2 and 3 respectively, to ensure public safety.
Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management also reviewed the preparedness of all relevant entities, including, Dubai Police, RTA, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Airports, DEWA, Civil Defence, Dubai Health, Dubai Ambulance, Dubai Land Department, along with other entities, in collaboration with the private sector and community management companies to mitigate any impact of inclement weather conditions.

The meeting also reviewed the crises communications plan of the Government of Dubai Media Office, along with the emergency plans of Dubai Police, RTA, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Health, Dubai Land Department, and several community management firms, along with other relevant entities, to ensure public safety and address any disruptions swiftly.

The meeting also reviewed efforts to address problems in the aftermath of recent extreme weather events. His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Commissioner General for the Infrastructure, Urban Planning and Well-Being Pillar and the Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), highlighted the efforts of the teams to handle the aftermath of the adverse weather events.

HE Al Tayer stated that the committee, through an integrated plan, had successfully managed to swiftly and efficiently contain fallouts of the unstable weather situation, in full coordination with strategic partners in the emirate. These efforts had been undertaken in keeping with the highest standards of response speed and the best global practices in dealing with emergencies and crises, he added.
