Dubai government representatives share knowledge and experiences on raising excellence in a series of virtual meetings

Government Best Practices Meetings, organised by Dubai Government Excellence Program, explore new ways to further enhance efficiency and innovation in Dubai government

The Government Best Practices Meetings, organised by the Dubai Government Excellence Program, has concluded following a series of virtual sessions featuring senior officials of government departments in Dubai.  

Held over two days, the Government Best Practices Meetings facilitated the exchange of knowledge and experiences among government departments in Dubai on strategic methods to enhance performance management and leadership in government. The participants reviewed international best practices and discussed ideas to promote concerted efforts to raise excellence, quality and performance levels in order to achieve the vision and future goals of Dubai government.

The opening session of the event featured a keynote address of Truls Berg, Entrepreneur, CEO and Author, which highlighted Norway's pioneering innovations and experience in promoting a culture of institutional excellence. The session discussed various new models for promoting organisational excellence, creativity and performance and new approaches for achieving high levels of community happiness, as well as ways to use technology to enhance leadership and navigate challenges.

The event today saw a range of virtual sessions in which Dubai Government entities presented new programmes, initiatives and best practices for raising customer and employee happiness that brought them various recognitions and awards.

The event closed with a panel discussion featuring the winners of the Dubai Medals for Government Excellence including Dr. Aisha Al Nuaimi, Director of the Innovation Center at DEWA and winner of the Dubai Medal for Specialised Employee; Zainab Al Balushi, Chief Financial Auditor in Dubai Courts and winner of the Dubai Medal for Administrative Employee. The session was moderated by Hassan Al Mazrouei, from the General Secretariat of The Executive Council of Dubai. The participants in the session shed light on various approaches to advance excellence and innovation.

The Dubai Government Excellence Program was established in 1997 to be a key driving force in enhancing excellence in Dubai's government sector. The Program has contributed to a radical change in the performance, concepts, practices and management methods applied in the government sector. The Program has developed and implemented new standards and models of institutional and functional excellence designed to ensure continuous improvements in performance and service quality.
