Al Jalila Children’s and Emirates Autism Society Partners to support Children with Autism

Al Jalila Children’s Speciality Hospital, the only hospital specialized in paediatric medicine in the United Arab Emirates and the Emirates Autism Society have inked a partnership to support the children with Autism and their families.

According to the scoop of the Memorandum of Understanding, signed at Al Jalila Children’s, the two parties will exchange expertise related to the Autism Spectrum Disorder, raise awareness of the disorder, and provide support to children with autism and their families through several initiatives including a parenting program and community events, workshops and seminars.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Awadhi, COO of Al Jalila Children’s, said “Through this strategic partnership with Emirates Autism Society, we aim to join our efforts to raise awareness of Autism Spectrum disorder among members of the public. We will also work together to support the families of children with autism by providing them with the best tools and best practices on how to manage the disorder and interact with their children.”

“Al Jalila Children’s and Emirates Autism Society has the joint vision of making a real difference in the lives of those children as we believe it is our responsibility towards them and their families,” he added.  

As part of the collaboration, the two parties will also develop awareness material around the disorder as well as work on initiative for World Autism Awareness Day and collaborate with mental health experts to raise awareness on the disorder.

Majid Sultan Al Mehairi, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Emirates Autism Society, said “Through the signing of this partnership, the Emirates Autism Society aims to open new areas of collaboration in providing medical and mental health consultation and rehabilitation for people with Autism in accordance with best practices.

The society is continuously working towards its vision, in line with the vision of the UAE, to help support people with autism and their families.” “In this context we would like to thank Al Jalila Children’s for their collaboration and services which aims to empower children with autism and work towards their inclusion in society.”
