Al Mulla Group allocates five buildings to support DHA’s efforts against COVID-19

27 Mar, 2020

Mohamed & Obaid Al Mulla Group has allocated four buildings with full-fledged medical facilities in a gesture that extends support to Dubai Health Authority (DHA)’s measures against COVID-19.  The buildings are equipped extensively to facilitate preventive measures including quarantine. The American Hospital Dubai, part of the Mohamed & Obaid Al Mulla Group, also allocated a building with 390 beds, equipped with best-in-class medical equipment and technologies, to support DHA’s efforts.

The Group’s gesture highlights the collaboration between the private and public in facing challenges in the current critical environment.

UAE businessman Buti Al Mulla, Chairman of the Group, said the current situation requires all stakeholders in society to support key authorities, including the Ministry of Health and Prevention and DHA, in their efforts to ensure the health and safety of the community.

Protecting the public is a patriotic act and a responsibility that should be shared by the business sector, he said.

The buildings allocated for use by DHA feature a total of 1,200 beds. He added that the Group will not spare any effort to contribute towards preventive efforts.

The CEO of Mohamed & Obaid Al Mulla and Chairman of the American Hospital’s crisis committee Sherif Beshara said the building prepared by the Hospital is equipped with all facilities including labs, radiology rooms and artificial ventilation.

He also said the building is managed by a highly trained medical and nursing team. American Hospital disinfected and sterilised the building and prepared it as a specialised hospital within just 12 hours, he added.

The community’s contribution is key to the success of preventive measures against COVID-19. Practising social distancing and staying at home during this time is vital, he stressed.
