RTA Completes Traffic Expansion in Al Mizhar 4 Towards Amman Street

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed a traffic expansion in Al Mizhar 4, spanning more than one kilometre from Tunis Street towards Amman Street. A third lane was added to the existing two, boosting capacity by 50% and cutting journey time by 25%, while improving traffic flow in the area.

The project forms part of RTA’s efforts to enhance Dubai’s road network, ease traffic flow and keep pace with the emirate’s urban and population growth. It is one of a series of quick traffic solutions and targeted improvements at high-traffic locations, designed to boost road network performance in residential communities and making everyday travel easier for road users.

The improvements primarily benefit motorists travelling from Tunis Street towards Amman Street, while providing easier access to and from nearby residential communities. Residents of Al Mizhar, Muhaisnah and neighbouring areas will benefit from the improved traffic flow and accessibility.

RTA continues to upgrade road infrastructure in residential communities through practical traffic solutions tailored to residents’ needs. These improvements are dedicated to make daily journeys easier and improve links between residential areas and Dubai’s main road network. 

Accordingly, RTA is studying Rat Running project dedicated to limit the use of internal residential streets as shortcuts for passing vehicles, through traffic management solutions tailored to each area identity. Al Mizhar 4 is among the target areas, with the project set to ease congestion and ensure residents' safety.

RTA also continuously monitors road network performance and traffic patterns to identify locations where targeted improvements are needed. These measures help ease congestion, increase capacity and shorten journey times, supporting safer, smoother and more sustainable mobility.
