DEWA reports 18.74% rise in electricity connection requests for Dubai projects in 2025

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) registered an 18.74% year-on-year increase in electricity connection requests for commercial, residential and industrial projects through its Al Namoos service in 2025. The service provides electricity connections of up to 150 kilowatts to DEWA’s accredited consultants and contractors through a two-step process completed within five days.

In 2025, DEWA received 9,786 electricity connection requests while the number of its accredited consultants and contractors stood at 2,379 at the end of the year.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, reaffirmed DEWA’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33). By cultivating a competitive and supportive business environment, DEWA contributes to sustainable growth for its partners, regardless of business size, he said.

“We provide programmes and initiatives that expand opportunities for project growth and streamline procedures to keep pace with the Dubai’s population, urban and economic growth. We facilitate industrial, commercial and residential projects to help our partners execute their work efficiently and smoothly, supporting the emirate’s infrastructure and ensuring that its growing demand for electricity and water services is met. This reinforces Dubai’s position as a global business hub and doubles the size of its economy over the next decade, helping it to consolidate its position among the world’s top three cities,” Al Tayer said.

Rashid Bin Humaidan, Executive Vice President of Distribution Power at DEWA, highlighted that DEWA adopts the latest technologies and solutions to enable consultants and contractors to complete all their transactions securely and seamlessly, anytime and anywhere, through DEWA’s smart app and website.
