MBR Library Launches 2nd Edition of Dubai International Library and Publishing Summit

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library launches on Thursday, October 30, the second edition of the Dubai International Library and Publishing Summit 2025. Under the theme, The Future of the Publishing Industry, the summit will run until 1 Novembr, 2025. The summit is one of the most prominent cultural events in the region, bringing together over 80 speakers from 20 countries, including five keynote speakers, in a packed program featuring 48 panel discussions and sessions, and more than 20 workshops.

Dr. Mohammed Salem AlMazrooei, Board Member at Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, said: “The second edition of the summit aligns with the rapid transformations witnessed by the global publishing sector. It contributes to sharing a more innovative and sustainable future for the knowledge industry”

AlMazrooei added: “We believe that investing in creative and cultural content is a fundamental pillar for building a knowledge society. This summit represents an opportunity to enhance cooperation among cultural, academic institutions, and publishers, locally and internationally."

AlMazrooei continued: “This year’s summit is distinguished by the diversity of its themes and the richness of its topics, which include artificial intelligence in publishing, content innovation, digital transformation, literary awards, alongside practical workshops focusing on editorial and creative skills.”

AlMazrooei emphasised that this diversity reflects the Library’s commitment to develop the Arab publishing ecosystem, and strengthen its global presence.

Dubai International Library and Publishing Summit is sponsored by Emaar, a leading world-class real estate developer. Emaar is committed to supporting national initiatives that stimulate knowledge and creativity, in line with its mission to promote sustainable development. The three-day summit will be attended by leading global institutions and publishing houses, including Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, and HarperCollins, alongside pioneering Arab and local organisations such as the Emirates Publishers Association, as well as several universities, libraries, and international cultural organisations, enhancing Dubai’s position as a global hub for cultural dialogue and publishing.

The summit’s agenda covers key topics central to the future of publishing, such as digital transformation and artificial intelligence, content innovation, sustainable publishing, translation as a cultural bridge, empowering young writers, as well as ethical and professional challenges in the digital knowledge era.

Some of the main sessions at the summit are Theory for Robots, The Impact of AI on Creativity and Publishing, The Future of Cross-Border Publishing: Global Visions and Local Realities, Prizes and Power Plays, Building a Sustainable Publishing House, Literature as a Cultural Bridge, Copyright in the Age of AI, among others.

Furthermore, the summit will feature workshops for publishers as well as young writers and translators, covering editorial and translation skills, book design, copyright management, and supply chains. It will also include special sessions on children’s literature, printing arts, and the production of audiobooks and digital books.
