Maktoum bin Mohammed says Commemoration Day Honours UAE Martyrs’ Sacrifice and Legacy

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, said Commemoration Day honours the UAE’s heroes who gave their lives in service of the nation, upholding its dignity and values. He emphasised that their memory will endure and continue to inspire generations.
He noted that the day brings together all Emiratis to pay tribute to the dedication of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. He added that their actions set an enduring example of commitment and selflessness.
Reflecting on the vision of the Founding Fathers, led by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, His Highness stressed that under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, together with Their Highnesses the Supreme Council members and Rulers of the Emirates, the nation continues to be guided by these values, with the martyrs’ legacy firmly preserved in its memory.
He highlighted the inspiration drawn from their sacrifices, noting that their heroism extends beyond the battlefield to every Emirati committed to the country. He also acknowledged the martyrs’ families, praising their patience and resilience, and affirming the nation’s continued support for them.
His Highness added that the UAE’s development rests on enduring principles that place people at the centre, with security and stability as its foundation. He highlighted the martyrs’ dedication and sacrifice, which reflect the nation’s commitment to peace, humanitarian values, and the protection of its achievements.
