DEWA launches two new AI-based tools to support engineering and technical staff

In line with its strategic road map to become the world’s first AI-native utility, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched two new tools based on artificial intelligence (AI) to support engineering and technical staff, and accelerate project planning and implementation. These are the Material Insights Agent, a virtual photovoltaic expert and the BRD Generator, which uses generative AI to create Business Requirements Documents.

Launching these two smart tools supports our efforts to become the world’s first AI-native utility by integrating AI across all our operations. The Material Insights Agent enables teams to obtain instant and reliable analyses during the design and implementation of solar energy projects, enhancing the quality of outcomes and accelerating completion. The Business Requirements Document reduces the time and effort required to prepare project documentation and speeds up informed decision-making, supporting DEWA’s global leadership in energy, water and smart services,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

The Material Insights Agent provides intelligent, real-time analyses for engineers and researchers working on solar energy projects, using advanced data and accurate simulation models. This tool enables technical teams to make more precise and efficient design and implementation decisions, accelerating progress and improving quality.

The BRD Generator uses generative AI to streamline the creation of integrated documents that define the objectives and both functional and non-functional requirements for any operational or technical project. This tool enables teams to draft professional documentation effortlessly, enhancing project planning, implementation, clarity of scope and deliverables.
