Winter Ghiras” Program at IACAD Records Exceptional Attendance Exceeding 763 Beneficiaries

The Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department announced the statistics of the “winter Ghiras 2025” program, launched under the theme “Planting Values, Illuminating the Future.” The program is dedicated to girls aged 7 to 16 and is being held from 8 to 18 December 2025 across seven locations in Dubai, as part of the Department’s strategy “Closer to the Community,” and to enhance its educational outreach across various areas of the emirate.

This year, the program comes in a newly developed and innovative format that reflects the environment of the United Arab Emirates and its cultural and social uniqueness, inspired by the spirit of the winter season eagerly awaited by families each year. Through this initiative, Dubai Islamic Affairs seeks to prepare the younger generation to welcome the season with a positive spirit and practical values translated into applied lessons closely connected to daily life. The program combines enjoyment, learning, and direct hands-on experiences, contributing to enhanced religious awareness and the reinforcement of authentic Islamic values through modern methods.

To date, “winter Ghiras” has welcomed more than 763 beneficiaries, delivered by 43 teachers with the support of 64 volunteers, across 29 educational classes. The program included the implementation of 188 educational workshops, totaling 497 instructional hours, within a motivating educational environment that reflects the Department’s commitment to high-quality content, sustainable impact, and support of its strategic plans, as well as the vision of the UAE’s wise leadership in investing in people and building knowledgeable, value-driven generations.

Ms. Sheikha Sultan Al Marri, Director of the Islamic Knowledge Programs Department and Head of the “winter Ghiras” initiative, affirmed that these positive indicators reflect the growing demand for the program and the community’s trust in its content and objectives. She noted that the initiative focuses on developing religious knowledge and behavioral skills, and reinforcing faith-based values through contemporary educational approaches that create tangible educational impact for participants. The program also represents a practical model of high-quality seasonal initiatives developed by the Department during school holidays, embodying the integration of educational and volunteer efforts in serving the community.
