UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan took part today in the UAE Government Annual Meetings in Abu Dhabi, an event that annually gathers over 500 leaders and officials from federal and local entities.
His Highness attended a session dedicated to ‘Building Emirati Families,’ during which leaders and officials from the social, education, human development and healthcare sectors discussed the importance of supporting and encouraging family-growth in the UAE. The session also reviewed the key challenges and socioeconomic factors impacting families, with speakers highlighting significant initiatives launched by the state to support and encourage young people to embark on starting a family. They underscored the importance of fostering societal awareness around the value of strong, cohesive Emirati families, as well as the inclusion of long-term solutions and policies on this topic within the national agenda.
In remarks during the session, His Highness stated that building Emirati families and fostering conditions for their growth is a shared national responsibility requiring a holistic approach. This responsibility, he noted, is shared by individuals, the community, and all institutions, with ample resources available to achieve this goal.
In this context, His Highness directed all entities and institutions to support this approach by implementing initiatives, programmes, and comprehensive policies that actively and positively contribute to family building and the empowerment of Emirati families.
He also underscored the significance of family growth as a central element in building and empowering UAE society, enabling it to meet the demands of comprehensive national development, both now and in the future.
The session was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence; H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Presidential Court.
A number of ministers, senior officials, and experts in social and family affairs, education, healthcare, human development, economy, infrastructure and other fields also participated in the session.
