Under the directives and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, the Arab Media Summit 2025, the Middle East’s largest media thought leadership platform, will be held from 26-28 May.
Organised by the Dubai Press Club (DPC), the Summit serves as the umbrella for key events and initiatives organised by the Dubai Press Club focused on knowledge exchange and dialogue in the media industry, including the Arab Media Forum (AMF), the Arab Youth Media Forum (AYMF), and the Arab Social Media Influencers Summit (ASMIS).
The prestigious media event, to be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Za’abeel Halls 5 and 6, will draw 6,000 participants, including prominent political figures, writers, thought leaders, opinion-makers, renowned media personalities and senior executives of leading Arab and international media organisations. The Summit will also feature the participation of inspiring Arab personalities in various fields, successful young content creators and digital storytellers and global media industry leaders.
Developing the Future of Media
Dr. Maitha bint Essa Buhumaid, Director of the Dubai Press Club, said: “The media landscape in our region is undergoing a significant transformation driven by extraordinary technological advancements. This calls for a renewed commitment to forging a new vision for the industry’s future. The Dubai Press Club is committed to understanding the sector's challenges and developing an agenda for the Arab Media Summit that accurately reflects the current state of the industry, highlights key issues and identifies potential growth opportunities.”
Buhumaid said the Dubai Press Club has been engaging in an extensive dialogue with members of the Arab media community, including media institutions and professionals, to identify the most pressing issues impacting the industry.
“The Arab Media Summit, together with all the events it encompasses, including the 23rd edition of the Arab Media Forum, serves as the most comprehensive platform for dialogue on both regional and global issues. This Summit provides a broad and inclusive forum for discussing critical issues and the media industry’s evolving landscape. The event’s sessions are designed to tackle essential topics and address the changing needs and dynamics of the media sector. By doing so, it aims to drive the industry's growth and development, offering valuable insights and fostering collaboration among media professionals from around the world,” Buhumaid added.
Over the past two decades, the Arab Media Forum has been at the forefront of addressing the most significant issues and developments shaping the media. Building on its achievements, the Forum reached a new milestone last year with the launch of the ‘Arab Media Summit’, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The Arab Media Summit serves as an overarching platform for the media initiatives organised by the Dubai Press Club since its inception in 1999.
The Summit now encompasses three prestigious awards, including the Arab Media Award, the Arab Social Media Influencers Award, and Ibda’a – The Arab Youth Media Award. Introduced last year during the Arab Youth Media Forum, Ibda’a – The Arab Youth Media Award aims to recognise and foster the development of a new generation of creative professionals who can significantly enhance the media landscape in the Arab world. The Award features seven categories, with a focus on new media platforms that have emerged with rapid technological advancements.
