The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai launched the "winter Ghiras" program with the presence of His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al-Muhairi, Director General of IACAD, along with Emirati astronauts Mohammad Al-Mulla and Nora Al-Matrooshi. The remarkable launch took place at the Umm Al sheif Cultural Islamic Center, where the astronauts shared their inspiring experiences in the field of space exploration. They emphasized the importance of ambition and the pursuit of scientific and knowledge-based achievements, leaving a profound impact on the attendees, especially the participating girls.
In his opening speech, His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al-Muhairi stated that "winter Ghiras" reflects IACAD’s commitment to achieving the goals of "Dubai’s Social Agenda 33", particularly in enhancing family and community bonds and supporting national identity. He added that the presence of the Emirati astronauts embodies the values of ambition and creativity that IACAD seeks to instill in the new generation, sending a message that there are no limits to achievement.
His Excellency also pointed out that "winter Ghiras" serves as an educational and developmental platform that combines the enhancement of Islamic values with the preservation of the Emirati heritage, including traditions and values. It also focuses on developing creative skills, contributing to the preparation of an aware and distinguished generation capable of achieving its future aspirations while staying connected to its cultural roots.
The "winter Ghiras" program, designed for girls aged 7 to 15, aims to promote Islamic and human values, develop ethics, and strengthen national identity, in line with the winter break. The program includes various activities held in several community centers and cultural centers such as the Al-Mizhar Cultural Islamic Center, Umm Al Sheif Cultural Islamic Center, Nad Al Sheba Women's Center, Maktoum Quran Centers in Nad Al Sheba 4 and Al Wuraqa 1, Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Islamic Culture, Hatta Community Center, and Al Nahda Ladies Association in Al Lisili.
The program’s activities include interactive workshops that blend enjoyment with educational value, focusing on topics such as innovation, sustainability, and leadership, enhancing the participants’ experience and instilling in them a love for learning and development.
The "Winter Ghiras" program represents a qualitative step in empowering girls, raising their awareness of core values, and equipping them with practical and scientific skills inspired by success stories across various fields.
