In cooperation with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai launched the "Frij Refrigerator" initiative. This initiative aims to provide refreshing conditions for workers by distributing cold drinks and refreshments at various construction sites and factories during the hot summer months.
The initiative, which benefited approximately 8,000 workers in different construction sites, is part of the GDRFA's efforts to improve working and living conditions for laborers, thereby enhancing their productivity and contributing to sustainable development. It also aims to raise awareness of the importance of providing a suitable work environment and to reinforce the crucial role workers play in society.
The Director-General of GDRFA Dubai expressed their happiness in launching the "Frij Refrigerator" initiative in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. This initiative carries humanitarian messages that reflect the values and solidarity of the UAE society, as well as its commitment to improving the living and working conditions of laborers.
Major General Obaid Bin Suroor, Assistant Director-General of GDRFA Dubai and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs, emphasized the importance of continuous communication with laborers to recognize their pivotal role in the emirate’s development journey. The "Frij Refrigerator" initiative, according to Bin Suroor, demonstrates GDRFA Dubai's unwavering commitment to providing all necessary support and care for laborers, thus improving work conditions.
Major General Dr. Ali Bin Ajif Al Zaabi, Assistant Director-General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, affirmed that developing the labor relations sector and supporting workers positively impacts work quality and productivity, contributing to the national goals and establishing Dubai’s position as a leading city in various fields.
