Ahmed bin Mohammed marks Commemoration Day

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, said Commemoration Day is an opportunity to reflect on the true meaning of patriotism and recall the sacrifices made by national heroes to protect the UAE’s prosperity and achievements. 

 

Paying tribute to the nation’s martyrs, HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed said that on Commemoration Day the nation remembers the people who put their lives at stake to protect the country. The sacrifices of the martyrs, who honoured their pledge to safeguard the nation even at the cost of their lives, will remain engraved in the memories of the UAE people for generations to come.

 

HH Sheikh Ahmed also said the sacrifices of martyrs remind us that all citizens are responsible for defending the nation. The martyrs’ selfless actions have helped the UAE move faster on its path towards a brighter future, he added. 

 

His Highness expressed his gratitude to the soldiers, officers and leaders of the UAE armed forces, and members of the nation’s security services who, he said, have shown exemplary commitment to ensuring the country’s safety and protection.
