Mansoor bin Mohammed hoists the UAE flag at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library

His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum today hoisted the UAE flag at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library. The flag-hoisting ceremony was organised by Watani Al Emarat Foundation in response to the call of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to celebrate the UAE Flag Day.

His Highness said the UAE Flag Day celebrations reflect the spirit of patriotism that the nation’s flag evokes in the hearts and minds of Emiratis. It is a day that reinforces national loyalty and offers an opportunity for citizens to renew their pledge to strive for the nation’s progress, he added.

Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed said: “A symbol of national unity, strength and pride, the UAE flag has been a witness to the nation’s remarkable development journey initiated by its founding fathers. Today, we renew our pledge to strive for greater achievements for our country so that our flag continues to fly high.”

Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed added that under the leadership of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the guidance of Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, the UAE will continue to be a global model for progress and excellence in various fields.

On his arrival at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library in Dubai, HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed was received by His Excellency Mohammed Al Murr, Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Foundation; His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority; and His Excellency Dherar Belhoul Al Falasi, Director General of Watani Al Emarat Foundation.

During the flag-hoisting event, a Dubai Police band played the UAE’s national anthem, and Al Fursan, the UAE Airforce's aerobatic display team, painted the sky with the colours of the UAE flag. 

At the end of the ceremony, HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed joined the organisers of the event for a commemorative photo session. The flag-hoisting ceremony was held under the slogan ‘We raise our flag for the future of the UAE’. The event was also attended by school students and Dubai Police Academy candidates.
