Mohammed bin Rashid attends the 41st GCC Summit

Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum affirmed that AlUla Summit is "a positive summit unifying ranks."

His Highness tweeted: “Today, I took part in AlUla Summit of the GCC leaders…a positive summit unifying ranks and establishing fraternity under the patronage of King Salman and his Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman…. Changes and challenges surrounding us require genuine Gulf strength, cohesion and cooperation as well as Arab depth and stability.”

The Vice President also thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for hosting the successful summit and affirmed his confidence in the role of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Sheikh Mohammed said he is optimistic that the coming years will bring more stability, security and prosperity for GCC countries and the entire region.

His Highness added: “In 1981, 40 years ago, our founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan hosted the first GCC summit in Abu Dhabi, along with his brothers, the late GCC leaders… the march of GCC is the legacy left by our leaders for their peoples.”

Previously today, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum arrived in Al-Ula leading the UAE delegation to the 41st GCC summit. Sheikh Mohammed was received by Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and a number of Saudi ministers and senior officials.
