The General Department of Artificial Intelligence at Dubai Police has recently been awarded for its "Smart Services: Awareness and Learning " initiative during the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum, the UN co-organised largest annual gathering of the information and communication technology (ICT) for development.

Brigadier Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, director of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence at Dubai Police, confirmed that winning this award reflects the leading position Dubai Police has reached in terms of innovation and the utilization of advanced technology.

“Available on both Android and iOS platforms, Dubai Police smart app and e-games have been downloaded by millions of users who have been extremely satisfied with our topnotch services,” Brig. Al Razooqi further explained

WSIS is organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

The forum, held from Sept 7 to 10 in Geneva, Switzerland, is a global platform to discuss the role of information and communication technology (ICT) as one of the methods of implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the United Nations (UN).
