Food items worth Dh750,000 donated to the ’10 million meals’ campaign

In a continuous pour of contributions, the National Trading and Developing Enterprises (NTDE) has donated food items worth Dh750,000 to enrich the diversity of meals distributed to coronavirus-affected communities in the UAE as part of the ’10 million meals’ campaign.

The NTDE, UAE’s leading distribution and logistics provider, donated 322 Haagen Dazs ice cream boxes to be distributed to over 30,000 individuals, and 32 tonnes of frozen chicken, 25,000 date packs, juice and tea boxes and ‘Nature Valley’ granola packets to beneficiaries throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

Hassan Ahmadi, chairman of NTDE, said, “Our distribution of high-quality food products complements the UAE’s efforts to spread smiles and happiness among people in need as the nation continues to empower and safeguard the public to overcome the global crisis.”

He added, “Generosity and giving continue in our society, mainly endorsed by our wise leadership in every occasion. Our contribution are not just food supplies to ensure no one goes hungry, but also a way of providing moral support to disadvantaged communities and emphasizing that their happiness and wellbeing are important to us. Achieving happiness and wellbeing in society is, after all, the UAE’s top priority.” 

Financial and in-kind donations continue for the ’10 million meals’ campaign in its second week to provide food support for communities most affected the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak in the UAE that left many facing unemployment and income reductions. 

Individuals and entities can still make their donations to provide meals through the campaign’s website www.10millionmeals.ae or via SMS (Etisalat and Du) to numbers listed on the website. Donors can make a transfer to ’10 million meals’ campaign bank account at Dubai Islamic Bank with IBAN no.:AE430240001580857000001.

For in-kind contributions, donors have the chance to provide packaged or canned food supplies or arrange food parcels for distribution through directly contacting the campaign’s organizing team on the toll-free number 8004006.
