The Dubai Police Academy has been officially recognized as one of the Best Workplaces in the UAE for 2019-2020 by Great Place to Work®, a global research, training and consultancy firm that identifies the best workplaces in over 50 countries worldwide.
The official list ranks the nation's best employers based on the confidential feedback of employees and an audit of management policies and practices.
Brigadier General Dr Ghaith Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director of the Dubai Police Academy, said that remarkable achievement fulfils our leader's vision of becoming the happiest nation. He added that this recognition is a result of the support and encouragement of H.E Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, Chairman of Dubai Police Academy Board, and the follow-up of PhD Major General Mohammad Ahmed Bin Fahad, Assistant Commander-in-chief for Academic and Training Affairs, as well as the concerted efforts, energies and hard work of the Academy's employees and faculty members.
Al Suwaidi stressed the Academy's keenness on spreading happiness among the employees through implementing innovative initiatives, including applying the five dimensions of the Great Place to Work® for a happy work environment.
"The Academy has organized many recreational and cultural trips and tourist visits to heritage places for its employees. It has also maintained effective means of interaction and communication with the employees at various social events and face to face meetings," Al Suwaidi indicated.
To select the 'Best Workplaces in the UAE', Great Place to Work conducts an evaluation of each participating company. Two-thirds of the company's score is based on the results of the Institute's proprietary Trust Index© survey, which is sent to the employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to their attitudes about the management's credibility, employee engagement and job satisfaction. The other third of the scoring is based on the company's responses to the Institute's Culture Audit©, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefits programs and a series of open-ended questions about recruitment, communication, and development.
Each entry is judged according to performance in eight key areas: Leadership, wellbeing, giving something back, personal growth, fair deal, and how members of staff feel towards their manager, company and team.
