Fakeeh University Hospital in Dubai Silicon Oasis opens its doors to Patients

Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) and Fakeeh Care, one of the largest and most prominent service providers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East region, today announced that Fakeeh University Hospital in Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) is ready to welcome patients.

 

In a qualitative addition to the existing specialized and integrated healthcare facilities in DSO and the wider UAE, the official launch of all departments of the smart university hospital is expected to be in Q1 of 2021. The AED1.5 billion project spans an area of one million square feet.

 

Centers of Excellence

The Fakeeh University Hospital in DSO, equipped with the latest smart medical equipment, comprises five specialized centers of excellence – diabetes and endocrinology; muscles, bones, and joints; emergency medicine; pulmonary medicine; and cardiology.

 

350-bed

The 350-bed hospital utilizes academic research and medical experience, adopting unique smart technology that takes into consideration all vital signs and specific medical history, across its offerings to ensure patient-centric specialized healthcare is provided. It also employs a talented team, equipped with the latest technologies, to meticulously carry out organ transplants.

In addition, the smart university hospital houses one of the largest intensive care unit of its kind in the region, with a capacity up to 60 beds, including 12 comprehensive operating rooms that were developed in Germany and assembled in DSO.

 

Qualitative Leap

Dr Mohammed Al Zarooni, Vice Chairman and CEO of DSOA, said: “Smart cities of the future will employ advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence and big data, to enhance quality of life all around. He noted that this is what will be on offer at Fakeeh University Hospital, the first-of-its-kind in the UAE to residents and visitors. He emphasized that the comprehensive medical complex represents the latest qualitative addition to the healthcare landscape in DSO, comprising of various clinics, laboratories, and medical centers.

 

Dr Al Zarooni concluded: “The DSOA Strategy revolves around four pillars – smart city, desired society, technology hub, and happiest people – and being the destination of investment for companies that are keen on leveraging technology and innovation to enhance lifestyles is testament to the strategy’s.”

 

Decades of Experience

For his part, Dr Mazen Fakeeh, President and Chairman of the Board of Fakeeh Care Group and Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital Company, said: “Fakeeh University Hospital at DSO, the integrated technology park, offers decades of specialized medical experience in a  state of the art smart healthcare facility. The university hospital at DSO will train and generate top-level UAE national cadres who will complement existing healthcare workers across the nation. It will also hire UAE national doctors who possess diverse experiences in various disciplines from different parts of the world.

Patients’ rooms include tablets that allow them to interact with their surroundings and the medical staff. Patients can also verify their credentials through the hospital’s app, which operates through a technology-based joint control center that allows for around-the-clock patient follow-up.

 

International Laboratory

The opening of Fakeeh University Hospital marks the first expansion for Fakeeh Care outside Saudi Arabia, choosing Dubai for its leading position as an international proof of concept hub for the latest smart tech solutions across industries.
