Emirati businessmen Saud Othman Al Humaidan and Hussain Nasser Lootah donate hotel for COVID-19 quarantine

Facility to be operated by the Dubai Health Authority

In further contributions from the UAE business community to support efforts to combat COVID-19, Emirati businessmen Saud Othman Al Humaidan and Hussain Nasser Lootah have donated a fully-equipped hotel for quarantine purposes.

Located in Bur Dubai, the hotel has 91 rooms and a total capacity of 266 beds. Apart from providing quarantine facilities, the hotel can also provide accommodation for tourists stranded due to the suspension of flights and global travel. The facility will be run by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).

Saud Othman Al Humaidan stressed that the community is a key partner in the fight against COVID-19. “Uniting efforts to combat the pandemic and easing the challenges resulting from the crisis is our shared national duty,” he said.

Hussain Nasser Lootah said everyone should contribute in the best way they can to support the UAE’s efforts to combat COVID-19. “The business sector must set an example in providing support and the community must stand together with the leadership to combat the pandemic. The businessmen said the hotel can be used by DHA for as long as needed.

Praising the contribution of the businessmen, DHA said the gesture reflects their commendable sense of national responsibility. The Authority also expressed its appreciation for the contributions made by businessmen, community leaders, institutions and companies across the UAE in support of the fight against the pandemic.
