Dubai Silicon Oasis Community Benefits from Fakeeh University Hospital Free Tele-Maternity Support

02 May, 2020

Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority in partnership with Fakeeh University Hospital today announced free tele-maternity advisory services exclusively for the Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) community.

In response to the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic, mother and baby care advisory services will be provided by Fakeeh Home Health Care, a subsidiary of the DSO based Fakeeh University Hospital, to women in the DSO community free of charge during their pregnancy and throughout the important initial weeks following delivery.

Commenting on the initiative, Engineer Muammar Al Katheeri, Executive Vice President of Engineering and Smart City and the Chairman of the Crisis Management Team at DSOA, said: “Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority constantly explores innovative solutions with its partners, to achieve business continuity and provide a sustainable healthy lifestyle for DSO’s community. This comes in line with DSOA’s four-pillared strategy – smart city, integrated technology park, the happiest employees, and a desired community to live and work in.”

Quoting His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Muammar added: “The coronavirus spread has shown that healthcare is the main power that shapes the economy and politics. Therefore, the decision to provide tele-maternity support ensures the continuity of healthcare services, while also enhancing the safety of the health sector and its cadres to overcome the covid-19 pandemic.”

Fakeeh Home Health Care services include ongoing tele-advisory support during pregnancy for women who do not have an obstetrician or are having a challenge contacting their maternity provider in light of the coronavirus restrictions. Following delivery, the subsidiary also provides professional home and tele-advisory visits to meet the needs of new families and provide support in learning different approaches according to their child’s development and temperament.

Dr. Fatih Mehmet Gul, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Fakeeh University Hospital said: “Fakeeh Home Health Care has a rich legacy of providing compassionate, empathetic, and person-centric care for patients and their families from the comfort of their homes. The emergence of the COVID-19 virus has led to healthcare challenges that test the global healthcare community and our core values head on.

“The need for at-home health services has become ever more prevalent. We welcome the opportunity to remain close to our patients and their families and provide critical services during trying times”.
