Digital X signs partnership agreement with AIS on robotics

Digital X, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), as part the Dubai 10X initiative, has signed a partnership agreement with Advanced Imaging Systems (AIS). This makes Digital X the world’s first GoBe robot user and the exclusive authorised reseller. The robots offer telepresence, which enables users to move around anywhere and anytime without travelling and engage effectively in the virtual world.

Marwan Bin Haidar, Vice Chairman of Digital DEWA – Digital Sector, and Nimer Hussain Al Hussan, Founder of AIS, signed the agreement during DEWA’s and its subsidiaries participation at the 40th GITEX Technology Week.

Bin Haidar said that the agreement supports DEWA’s efforts to redefine the concept of utilities and create a new digital future for Dubai, through Digital DEWA, to become the world’s first digital utility to use autonomous systems for renewable energy, storage, expansion in AI adoption, and providing digital services.

“We always strive to enrich our stakeholders’ experience by providing digital services and solutions that depend on state-of-the-art systems. This supports the Smart Dubai initiative to make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world. We collaborate with local and international organisations to turn Dubai into a global hub for developing disruptive technologies that keep pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This is in accordance with the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031; the UAE Strategy for the Fourth Industrial Revolution; and the Emirates Blockchain Strategy 2021, which achieves the Government of Dubai’s target to harness future technologies to serve humanity,” said Bin Haidar.

“We are pleased to culminate our cooperation in partnership with DigitalX so that we can offer it across the UAE. The GoBe robot is not only a telepresence robot, but is also an interactive device that enables users to add their programmes and applications to be more distinguished and creative. With this strategic partnership, we will be able to serve individuals and institutions with the latest artificial intelligence and robotic systems,” said Al Hussan.
