Dubai has a new global achievement in sustained Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) attraction during the period from 2010 to 2019زAn achievement that will further strengthen Dubai’s position as a preferred global FDI destination in diversified economic sectors and a center for leading global companies’ Headquarters in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.
The Financial Times ’fDi Markets data, which monitors capital flows in greenfield FDI projects projects worldwide, ranks Dubai as a major city in all benchmarking reports and city performance rankings in attracting foreign direct investment. While cities are classified as large, medium, and small, Dubai is classified as a Major city due to the strategic advantages and sustainable performance in attracting investment.
Dubai's Global FDI Ranking over a decade from 2010 to 2019:
- Dubai ranks first in the Middle East and North Africa region and third in the world in the number of foreign direct investment projects attracted after London and Singapore.
- Dubai ranks first in the Middle East and North Africa region and sixth in the world in terms of foreign direct investment capital inflows, after Singapore, Shanghai, London, New York, and Hong Kong.
- Dubai ranks first in the Middle East and North Africa region and seventh in the world in the number of jobs created from foreign direct investments.
