Mohammed bin Rashid attends the launch of National Media Youth Program

Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended the launch of the National Media Youth Program held today on the sidelines of the fourth edition of the Emirati Media Forum.

A joint initiative of Dubai Press Club, Emirates Youth Council and Watani Al Emarat Foundation, the Program aims to train Emirati media talent to enable them to meet the highest global standards. The Program is the largest of its kind in the Middle East.

Her Excellency Shamma Suhail Faris Al Mazroui, Minister of State for Youth, and Chairman of Emirates Youth Council said that the changing media landscape has seen new social media platforms attracting the interest of youth. Her Excellency stressed the importance of empowering youth to enhance their contribution to the media sector’s growth.

President of Dubai Press Club Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, said that the launch of the Program reflects the directives of the leadership to develop the youth, and provide them with the support necessary to maximise their talents. She also praised the role of the Emirates Youth Council and Watani Al Emarat Foundation in supporting the development of youth.
Al Marri said that the Program seeks to rigorously train young talent in different media specialisations to equip them with the highest standards necessary for serving the nation.

Dherar Belhoul, General Director of Watani Al Emarat Foundation, said that the Program reflects the vison of the Foundation to prepare youth to enter the job market.

Featuring theoretical and practical aspects of media, the year-long Program covers media campaign and brand management. The Program also attracting the widespread interest aims to support young professionals in gaining a deeper understanding of strategies for maintaining the UAE’s reputation, and using soft power to enhance regional and global influence.

The Program addresses key print media skills like writing as well as broadcast and digital media skills. The Program is open to UAE nationals between the ages of 15 and 35, who hold a high school diploma, and who are talented either in writing, photography, design or montage.
