‘The Stage’ hosts performances of region’s young creative influencers

‘The Stage’, a special platform for young creative social media influencers at the Arab Social Media Influencers Summit, today featured comedians Max Amini and Maha Jaafar, and mind hacking expert Hashim Al Sharif.

International comedian Max Amini’s presented an interactive stand-up comedy performance that drew an encouraging response from the audience. Through an array of eccentric impressions and novel storytelling, Amini expresses his comedy by delivering a strong message about family ties, cultural aspects, and social topics. Max’s ability to improvise and create on the spot sets him aside from other comedians. His large fan following across the world has made him a prominent social media influencer.

UAE-born Maha Jaafar, who has won fans across the Arabic social media world with her video posts impersonating various Arabic accents and stereotypes, also presented a stand-up comedy performance. Jaafar's first YouTube video went viral early this year, with over 1.7 million views. She bases her comedy on situations she observes on a daily basis in the UAE. Jaafar, whose father is Sudanese and mother Iraqi, started her journey on social media after a friend posted her comedy video on SnapChat. The video won her a large number of followers from across the Arab world.

Saudi artist Hashim Al Sharif challenged members of the audience in a ‘Mind Hacking exercise. Al Sharif employs diverse techniques to reprogramme people’s minds, just as a hacker would reprogramme a computer. Using body language and neuro-linguistic programming techniques that he studied in Las Vegas, Al Sharif worked with participants during his show to change their beliefs and thoughts in his demonstration of ‘Mind Hacking’.
