PCFC launches “Year of Zayed” lab with participation of 4,000 employees and 200,000 clients

Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) has recently launched a brainstorming lab that enables its staff and clients to submit ideas and suggestions related to 2018. The lab will run under the theme “Year of Zayed” with the participation of a number of local and federal departments, ministries and authorities, plus 4,000 male and female PCFC employees and 200,000 clients.
This comes in response to the announcement of the President, Sheikh Khalifa who declared 2018 the “Year of Zayed” to mark 100 years since the birth of the country’s Founding Father.

Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department pointed out that launching the “Year of Zayed” lab is meant to encourage employees to innovate and come up with new ideas and initiatives in fulfilment of Year of Zayed agenda.

“The lab will be a great opportunity to deliver innovative ideas and suggestions. The agenda will consist of two phases. The first one will see employees and clients share their ideas, and in the second phase, theory will be put into practice where these ideas will be activated and shared with other strategic partners including Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Education, amongst many others” he said.

The lab will cover seven main topics which are health and environment, leadership, humanitarian side, citizenship, security, heritage, and education. These are the issues that Late Sheikh Zayed prioritized in his fruitful years as a president.
On his part, Ahmed Abdul Salam Kazim, Director of Strategy and Corporate Excellence at Dubai Customs pointed out that the lab will help participants deliver the best of ideas that will be put into practice for the common benefit.

Kazim added: “These ideas and initiatives represent the importance of this great historical character. It’s also a chance for all employees to express their gratitude and love to UAE’s founding father”.
